Description danieldawson 2005-09-21 18:42:43 UTC
Note: I don't have MS Word, so I'm having a friend help me by producing Word
documents with Word.

OOo seems corrupting images inserted in Word documents with Word, when they come
from a certain type of JPEG. The features of these images are:

* They come from a scanner (though this shouldn't make a difference).
* They use Exif.

Other Word users reported no problems with this.

I originally saw this bug in the 1.1.3 version on Windows. Although I'm marking
1.1.3 (current Debian testing version), I also found the same problem in 1.1.4.
I haven't tried 2.0, though. A sample image and a Word document that embeds the
image will follow.

I opened TestPage000.doc in OOo 1.9.125 on FC4, and the image looks fine.

Firefox wouldn't open the JPEG, but GIMP and Nautilus did.

Yes, I could also see the problem in OO 1.1.x, but it is fixed in OO 2.0.
