Apache OpenOffice (AOO) Bugzilla – Issue 5553
Password generation/Login failure
Last modified: 2003-12-06 14:52:32 UTC
After downloading and installing OpenOffice.org 1.0 (which went very smoothly), I registered and received the following email msg: "The openoffice.org password for the user 'jonathanmrich' is: qFrK!dR." (No quotes in msg.) After trying to login unsuccessfully several times I tried pasting the password directly from the email into the form. This worked only after I inadvertently included the period (.) at the end of the sentence.
Hi, Unclear exactly what you would like to happen: to eliminate the "." from any password generation? I doubt that can easily be done. What it would require is for an issue to be filed as a specific enhancement request of CollabNet's product, SourceCast, which provides the infrastructure for OpenOffice.org. then CN would have to evaluate it and if it found it meritorious, implement it. All this would use up valuable engineer resources... etc. However, if it were the case of you wanting to *change* your password: you can easily do so by logging in , going to your start page, and then clicking on "edit profile". the rest is fairly self- explanatory. hope this helps, closing; reopen if necessary louis
As mentioned on the qa dev list on March 5th I will close all resolved <wontfix/duplicate/worksforme/invalid> issues. Please see this posting for details. First step in IssueZilla is unfortunately to set them to verified.
