Description richlv 2005-10-12 15:20:56 UTC
create a new drawing. insert two objects, select one of them. enable rotation.
click on another object. rotation center of previous object is used.

now, i'm not sure wether this is a feture or a bug ;) - but it sure is not
consistent, as it works this way in draw & calc but not in writer.
in writer, if rotation mode is enabled and a click on another object is
performed, rotation mode is disabled.

Reproducible. Bug or feature?
Comment 2 Armin Le Grand 2005-10-18 11:49:54 UTC
AW: Well, it's an old feature. The basic idea behind it is to allow the user to
rotate object B around the rotation point of object A. In that case, the user
would select A (and e.g. move the rotation point). When he also wants to rotate
other objects (too keep the same relation to rotated A) the rotation point is
saved over the selection of B.
Workaround: If You have deselected everything, starting the next selection will
again start a new rotation point with a new automatic positioning.
Comment 3 richlv 2005-10-19 06:36:08 UTC
it sure is a fine feature then.
in that case it should work in writer, too.
Comment 4 wolframgarten 2005-10-21 08:00:51 UTC
This is true, we have an inconsistency here. Changing component to writer.
Aw, is this yours?
Comment 5 Armin Le Grand 2005-10-24 16:26:16 UTC
AW: No, as discussed, it's writer then.
AW->OS: See text. ATM it's inconsistent between apps. We should take a look to
make it consistent in our way to 3.0
