Last modified: 2005-10-25 21:17:48 UTC
Stefan, As discussed in today's conference call, we would like you to give us your best indication of growth with regards to the metrics that you track in the OOo community. We will use these projections to modify our dataset and test-cases we should be using, so pls make sure you also . Number of Registered Users: 287,471 Number of Archived Mailing List messages: 2,218,902 Mailing list subscribers: 34,115 (you mentioned 10% growth) Latest Weekly posts: 3,607 (3,607 week before) Number of Documents: 1,824 Downloads: 532,721+ on week of the launch and 271,111 week of 10/15 Bandwidth out (Mbps): Weekly average 26Mbps, peak during launch: 204 Mb/sec Web hits/sec: 450 hits/second peak and 50 hits/second typical average Any CVS growth projections in checkouts, checkins, repo size? Also, as you mentioned on the call, developers have the following priorities with regards to our components: 1. CVS 2. IZ 3. Mailing lists -------------------------------------------------------------------- We have been doing performance testing with the following dataset: - 235,000 Users (1% increase from the 182K users last year) - 80,000 IZ Issues - 2,400 Projects (feedback from other sites) based on your last year's 1 year projections so it's good that you've shot through these goals, but we need to relook at maybe re-running some of the performance tests we've done with Danube-S to raise our level of confidence on performance. We are also planning to test "CVS on a separate box) on Solaris since this is an option we should examine to overcome CVS performance issues. - Number of users growing by ~1000 (1%) per week. We expect only a little higher number during the week of the release. - The number of issue submissions and changes as well as repository activity are almost flat. There is a bit more activity during the last 2 month before the release. - We see mailing list posts at an avarage ~3200 per week. During the week of the release we expect an increase by factor 2. - The number of website hits is roughly 2.5m / day. We expect an increase by factor 2-3 during the days of the release. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
