Apache OpenOffice (AOO) Bugzilla – Issue 56667
Saving an openoffice spreadsheet that contains links to other spreadsheet cause openoffice crash
Last modified: 2005-11-02 08:07:41 UTC
The problem occures only if the file is saved in the OpenDocument or OpenOffice file formats. How to reproduce: - create a spreadsheet and save it to disk - create a second spreadsheet and link a cell to a cell in the previous spreadsheet - save the document The problem occures with OpenOffice 2.0 on Linux and on Windows. The problem doesn't occure when saving the files in Microsoft Excel format.
I was unable to replicate the issue on OOo 2.0 on Linux. I am not sure if I have missed something while trying to replicate the issue. Just can you add more information if possible about how did you add a link to a cell if that is where we are missing things.
To link the cells, I used the following formula: ='file://path_to_file/file_with_extension'#$sheet_name.$column$row After posting the bug entry, I found that with empty files, OO doesn't crash every time. The files I am trying to link together contains 367 rows and 9 columns. I want to link file2-cell B2 to file1 - cell I367. Column A in both file contains dates (1 year) and column I contains formulas (sum). Column B to H contains formatted numeric values with cell comments. If I do the link with these files, OO crash at the save time, everytime. I don't want to attach the files because they contain financial informations.
Hi, this sounds like a duploicate of Issue 52342 and it's duplicates. Please read the comments on these Issues and give us feedback about that. Thanks for your help. Frank
Looks like I didn't search enough to find the problem at first. You are right, it's the same problem. The problem is still there with 2.0.0 for Linux and for Windows. I'm not confident to send the affected files because they content sensitive data. I can certainly modify some things in the files and send you a tarball if it's possible those files don't get public.
oups... looks like I have 2 profiles here... last comment from Seydon is from me... sorry about this...
Hi, no problem with the profiles ;-) As you've found out, this is a double and Issue 52342 is fixed for the upcoming 2.0.1 there is no need for documents anymore. Thanks for the offer. So I close this as double. Frank *** This issue has been marked as a duplicate of 52342 ***
