Nowhere it is said that there is the possibility to create new gradients in this
dialog. So this is an enhancement. But you are right: it would be nice to have
the opportunity here.

Confirming, but probably a duplicate.
Comment 3 nekohayo 2008-10-22 17:22:45 UTC
haven't seen dupes of this. If any, 64303 actually is a dupe of this.

Interestingly enough:
- if you are in the Format -> Page dialog, you can't edit gradients, only apply
the existing ones
- if you have an object (such as an arrow shape) and edit its color, is that
dialog you have a Gradients tab that does allow you to edit the set of gradients
that OpenOffice uses! Therefore, you can edit them there and they will be
available in the Format -> Page dialog.

Thus, the format -> page dialog is "only" missing a tab that already exists in
the object color properties dialogs.

Also, in table formatting dialog there is an option to apply existing gradient to
cell background, but it's impossible to create it. I think link to gragient creation
dalog should be present in every place allowing gradient choice, as in MS
Office
