- Open the power point file (atached) with the presentation module. 
- Answer yes to enable macros  
- The document appears but it freezes, not displaying the 4th slide thumbnail.

My original sample file was too big. I got the same sort of problem in an 
smaller file that has been attached succesfully. 
 
The output in the command line : 
 
*** glibc detected *** double free or corruption (fasttop): 0x0828b510 *** 
 
It freezes showing the 3rd slide.

On Windows, both MS Powerpoint and OOo 2.0 detect that the document contains
macros. Might this have something to do with the problem?

I added two attachements with the backtrace I obtain with gdb and the output 
given by strace.  
 
I am using the OpenOffice binaries provided from 
http://idefix.eup.uva.es/soleup in Kubuntu-Breezy. 
 
In both outputs, I specified norestore and I selected not enable macros when 
asked.

@pleira: cannot reproduce. From the backtrace, it appears that XPolygonRegion
causes a double free - but that's an OOo-external lib. For starters, could you
please download a stock OOo version (from www.openoffice.org), check whether
your problem persist, and if yes, submit the crash report (don't start OOo with
the -norestore option, therefore).

After you've done that, please note the crash report ID in this issue.

I have installed the OpenOffice (US version) from the download section in 
OpenOffice.org. I get again the backtrace which I sended in the last 
attachment. I installed the debug version of xlib11-6 to get some for insight 
for you. The problem happens in the PolyReg.c file. I will attach also a copy 
of this file.  
 
Unfortunately I could not send a crash report. I will try again, but I got 
OpenOffice always hanging because trying to recover the file.

(no 64bit, or somesuch)?

This one is duplicate - as I suspected, this is a bug outside OOo - see
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=5125 for the root cause.

@pleira: you might bug Kubuntu to update their X11 lib - appears that FC-4
xorg-x11 6.8.2 does no longer has the problem.
