1) Start editing a cell with an expression
   =SUM(
2) Use the arrow keys to select a cell
3) Hit ctrl-<space> to select a full column

The inputhandler for the expression does not change to reflect that the full
column has been selected, but the column is drawn in reverse video.

Not a defect but an enhancement request.

So requirements have to decide.
