Description greenrd2004 2005-12-13 12:25:05 UTC
When the attached document is exported as a PDF, the backslash character
overlaps the previous character (the 'f').

Reassigned to HI.
Comment 3 ecastro 2005-12-15 21:36:10 UTC
Works for me perfectly, using OOo 2.0.1RC4 on ubuntu Breezy
I do see the "f" and backslash separated, each in place, in the pdf file (viewed
with Acrobat reader, KPDF, Evince and others).
Please, supply other example.

Works without problems on SuSE Linux 10.0 and OOo 2.0.1.

Are you using an original OpenOffice version downloaded from OOo mirrors or a
special version assembled and provided by RedHat?

Are you using the "File -> Export as PDF" menu to export?

Please provide the generated PDF file.
Comment 6 greenrd2004 2006-01-12 13:04:47 UTC
I'm using a Redhat build, and I am using File -> Export as PDF.

Hi,
This seems a RedHat specific issue, since it is not reproduced with other linux
distros or Windows.
You mention you use an OpenOffice.org version build by RedHat. ¿could you
indicate the build version? Go to Help>About. Once the dialog is open press
Ctrl-S, D, T (I think, Star Division Team), an scrolling message appears and
let you read the "official" OOo version. Latest is "680m12:8890". Probably
RedHat is packaging an earlier <8890 (and more buggy) beta version.

Please, install OpenOffice.org 2.0.1 from "official" rpms downloaded from this
site. If works well, please file a bug at RedHat.

Comment 9 greenrd2004 2006-01-15 19:35:36 UTC
The bug is still reproducable with the official 2.0.1 RPMs from this site.
Comment 10 greenrd2004 2006-01-15 19:40:33 UTC
And I have already filed a bug with Redhat - I gave the link above -

Hi,
I cannot reproduce the issue from your file.
Is the problem confined to the "\" character?
Do you see the same with other combinations? ("\t", "\r")
Does it happens with "\" after "f" specifically? or with other chars?

Perhaps if you could attach a pair of files (.odt, .pdf) with several examples
and combinations we could try to reproduce the problem.

Are you printing to a PDF printer or using the File>export as PDF menu item to
generate the PDF?

The bug still occurs if I change the character before and/or after the \

I am using File>export as PDF - I already said that

I will attach some more examples.

And yes, the bug still occurs if I change the \ character to something else, like #
Comment 18 ostkamp 2006-01-15 22:22:47 UTC
Have you tried to remove your private config after installing the latest OOo,
i.e. removing the .openoffice.org2 (see what you have) in your $HOME? Is the
error still reproducible?

What if you change the font to something else? Is the effect the same?
Comment 19 greenrd2004 2006-01-15 23:34:22 UTC
The bug is reproducable after removing my settings.

However, it is only reproducable with the original font: Bitstream Vera Sans
Mono size 10.
