Description caudron 2002-06-18 18:38:00 UTC
I think the product would benefit from the ability to display a document
split-screen as you can in MS word, for instance. In other words, the ability
to cut the screen in half horizontally and view one part of a long document in
the upper portion and a different part in the lower portion. Editing long
documents makes this quite useful.

Unrelatedly, congratulations! This office suite is GREAT!

Reassigned to Bettina.

It is missing feature of open office, which still not exist in OOO 1.1
Rc4.

some people will feel this function useful if they work with more than
one documents, so easy to look at other documents

I believe this has been asked for many times: split-screen with same
document but different places in document and split-screen for two
documents.

In Calc this feature is already present, in Writer you can create a
new window of the current document and place them next to each other
to simulate split-screen.

cloph, how do I open a file within a second window? When I try in OOo 1.1.0, OOo
switches back to the original window where the file is already open.

OK found out myself. Issue 4503 which asks the same has been closed as
worksforme with describing how to open another window with the same doc: >
Window > New.

Will close this as a duplicate of Issue 4508.

If you find your problem not being resolved please ask for reopen Issue 4508.
