I think it is time to add decent page numbering fauture in OO. Existing concept
of inserting the footer and within adding the page numbers is extremely
unpractical and complicated. Also with this concept, you cannot choose weather
you like page number to show on the first page or not, which is quite anoying
bug. The lack of this feauture is the first thing that all new users noted. It
can be solved very simple like in MS Word.

no, not planned. And honestly: What do you expect?

OOo has a concept of page styles and paragraph styles. You can choose on what
pages your number will appear by choosing the appropriate page-style.

I guess you want a "wizard" type thing and thus mark it as duplicate.

OOo is not a word-clone.. And there aren't enough programmers to fix every
single issue out there....
