Apache OpenOffice (AOO) Bugzilla – Issue 59824
Redundant formatting of linked styles
Last modified: 2017-05-20 11:19:30 UTC
Resolving this issue would make the formatting (especially the way it is presented in the Organizer tab) much clearer: When a style linked with another is modified, the change appears in the Organizer tab (as it should). But when the formatting is reverted back to the original formatting of the linked (parent) style, the formatting is not reset to the original parent formatting but is explicitly set to the reverted value. For example: 1st we change the Text Body font size to 13pt, then we change it back to 12pt which is the size of the font for the parent Default paragraph style. Text body font size is then explicity 12pt, as opposed to being linked with Default again. As far as I remember, in older versions of OOo 2, doing the above would cancel the modification to the child linked style and revert it back to the linked style (parent) formatting. Maybe there should be a mechanism for reverting back to linked style?
confirmed on Windows XP Pro SP2 with OOo 2.0.1
MRU->OS: When a linked style with different attributes than its parent will be resetted to the "Default" values (of the parent) the attribute values will still be merked as "special" values on the organize tab.
Reset assigne to the default "issues@openoffice.apache.org".
