Apache OpenOffice (AOO) Bugzilla – Issue 59891
Numbering/Bullets mode in Right to Left direction indents BOTH sides of text
Last modified: 2013-08-07 14:43:03 UTC
In Right to Left (RTL) writing direction, numbered/bulleted lists incorrectly apply indentation on both sides of the text. For example, if a bulleted list is indented 5 centimeters from the right margin, it is also "indented" by 5 centimeters from the left margin. The result is that deeper outline levels only allow a few words before the line wraps. It's easier to understand with an example - see attached document.
Created attachment 32781 [details] Example of Numbering/Bullets problems (for two different issues)
confirmed on Windows XP Pro SP2 with OOo 2.0.1
MRU->OD: It looks, that the indent is apploied to both sides of the numbering label in RTL context.
Problem still exists in 2.3 - anyone cares?
OD->eyalzvi: I took and will take care of this issue from the developer perspective. The reason, why this issue isn't already fixed, is its initial target "OOo later". Currently, I've about 180 issues, which are more important than this issue. Other hints that this issue doesn't seem be very serious is, that it exist since OOo 1.1, has no votes and no duplicates. But nevertheless, I will consider this issue for target "OOo 2.x", which means that I'm planning to fix it at least in OOo 3.0
Adjusting version field to "OOo 1.1" indicating, that this defect exist since the introduction of the RTL layout.
according to release status meeting -> 3.x
*** Issue 84373 has been marked as a duplicate of this issue. ***
