Apache OpenOffice (AOO) Bugzilla – Issue 60378
changing column widths sometimes inconsistent
Last modified: 2017-05-20 11:27:28 UTC
Hi, in attached document, when you -via the Table->Columns dialogue- change the width of cell B2, the width of cell A1 is changed too. But when you change A1s width, B2s is not : inconsistent.
Created attachment 33119 [details] the demo file
Change column width via Table.Properties.Column: Changing the width of B2 will also affect width of A1. But vice versa, A1 change will not affect B1/B2 width.
I've tryied to replicate the bug on both my laptop (Windows XP with version 2.0.1 installed) and some Linux machine (RedHat with version 1.0.1 installed) I've tried the following steps: (1) Open the demo files as posted (2) Go to Table -> Table Properties (2.1) I entered several values to play around Here is my observation: we're supposed to give values to the column fields such that they add up to the total table width(in the demo you gave, the total table width is 17.0) To me, it doesn't seem problematic or inconsistent. Maybe you can try to play around with the values for fields more. In case I misunderstood from your summary, could you be more specific regarding in what sense you consider the column widths being inconsistent?
you must place the cursor in B2 and access right-click context menu -> Table... -> Columns and change the width of column 2. Then press Ok. You should notice that the border between A1 and B1 has moved together with the border between B2 and C2. If you place the cursor in A1 and change the width of column A using just described dialogue, the border between B2 and C2 on the other hand does not move with the border between A1 and B1. That's the inconsistency.
