Apache OpenOffice (AOO) Bugzilla – Issue 60492
Last line is displayed 3 times, overlapping them; repaint problem
Last modified: 2013-08-07 14:38:26 UTC
Hi all. When 2 pages appear on screen (the 1st's bottom and the 2nd's top) and I press the [Pg Dn], the new last line of the 2nd page appears 3 times at the bottom, overlapped. If I then press the [Pg Up], the upper line appears 3 times at the top, overlapped. I tried to attach an image to better explain the issue, but can't find where to atach it, so sorry for my bad English. If you want to contact me: nconde at fing.edu.uy, I can send you the JPEG screen capture (200 KB). Good luck.
Created attachment 33182 [details] Screen capture showing Writer overlapping lines.
Reassigned to SBA. This should be workaroundable by pressing Ctrl-Shift-R.
SBA: Another workaround is to scroll up and down with the scroll bar. I could NOT reproduce it with <Page-up> and <Page-down> travel actions in a multi-page document. I doubt that we ever get rid of ALL options to provoke a repaint error on all systems one may think of. On the other hand, they are irritating at best and they are easily and intuitively to workaround. As long as there is bigger fish to catch and this is not a problem that occurs "too often" respectively can be easily reproduced with a standard scenario, then this is a Prio4 with target OOo later with a fair chance not to get fixed ever due to limited ressources. Reassigned to FME.

There are some good instructions for reproducing this error, on issue 101193. I might add that in two-page display mode, it happens on both pages at once. Adding me as cc. /tj/

Version OO 3.3 I tried replicating this defect using various zoom percentages and vertical scales but could not find the copied lines mentioned in this report or the garbage lines mentioned in the duplicate report. I used 2 105 page documents one consisting of only text and another that contained images and graphs. However, I did not test a document that consisted of mostly tables. Tables have come up in other bug reports(115807) and could possibly cause the defect to happen more frequently.
