Volker: how your latest fixes from m190 relate to this one?

Looks like we can close this now, because we have a correct way to disable
striping in the solver, right?

@Pavel: Yes, we have a configure switch now to enable/disable stripping
independently from the --enable-symbols. If that solves this issue
(optimize $strip settings is quite cryptic ;) ) just close the issue.
