Apache OpenOffice (AOO) Bugzilla – Issue 62150
View/print mode black and white, and greyscale are swapped on UI
Last modified: 2017-05-20 11:11:10 UTC
Hi, Here's an attached presentation template whith a printing problem. Put it in your template directory, then create a new presentation based on it. Create some slides, and try to print it. The background image is not printed. The template was created from a presentation which works fine. regards, Ph.
Created attachment 34221 [details] Presentation template whis printing problem
confirmed with OOo 2.0.2 RC1 on WinXP Pro SP2 with hp cp1160 in all quality options. The page background image also does not appear in the Page->Background dialogue.
Reassigned.
I can reproduce the bug. Please have a look if this is duplicate to the black and white / greyscale bug.
Changed title to match the actual bug @af: please take over, this is prolly just a wrong mapping from UI to drawing layer flags (though consistent for both printing and viewing).
Accepted.
AF->AW: Please take over. The correct behaviour for objects on the background should be that in grayscale mode both graphics and other shapes are painted in grayscale. In black and white mode graphics should not be painted at all and other shapes with only their border.
AW: Changing target
AW: There is old code in DrawingLayer which by purpose creates those exceptions e.g. for grayscale when printing and other stuff. I never liked it myself, but tried to keep it working to not break wanted functionality. If this is unwanted stuff, i will remove that. I see no reason to differentiate between printing and viewing for grayscale and B&W at all, so printer and window display should just be identical (greetings to WYSIWIG). AW: Checking for that exceptions...
AW: Due to time constraints for UI freeze for PP4 i move to 2.x. We will need to make a spec which describes an implicit method to suppress masterpage printing.
AW->CL: This is the one which describes that MasterPages are not printed in grayscale, which is also the reason that gray printed handouts are empty (You have the one double to this one). AW: I already discussed with UserExperience. The result up to now is that we want to get rid of the exceptions (printing and viewing) when display quality is changed (col, gray, B&W) in the Drawinglayer and offer some kind of feature which does what is intended: "Do not print too fat objects on MasterPage to make my printout readable nad look good and to not waste toner". -> Needs a spec and more discussion.
set target from 2.x to 3.x according to http://wiki.services.openoffice.org/wiki/Target_3x
The same defect is described in issue 51573. The same defect is still in CWS printerpullpages. I think at least the printing UI can be corrected in the new printing dialog.
