Description martinschniewind 2006-03-08 14:08:22 UTC
Editing notes in oocalc >= 2.0 does not work as described in the (german) manual.

This is what it should be like (my own translation from german help):
"To edit a note you select the cell containing the note and choose "Insert -
Note" from the menu." (German: "Zum Bearbeiten einer Notiz klicken Sie auf die
mit der Notiz versehene Zelle und wählen dann Einfügen - Notiz.")

This has been working correctly until Version 1.1.5, as far as I remember.

Since version 2.0 the entry "Note" in menu "Insert" is disabled as soon as a
cell containing a note is selected. Thus it is impossible to edit (or delete) a
note by means of keyboard usage.

ja->ufi: please take care of this. Reassigned

@ja: Why "downgrade" this to a documentation issue? Don't you consider this to
be a real UI task?

I cannot confirm that the Insert - Note command is disabled when a cell contains
a note. Works in m145 on Solaris.
Please give more info on version, build, platform

Version (from menu "help/about") is:
openoffice-core 2.0.1-2 Mo Jan 16 20:32:20 CET 2006
Created by Debian

"ooffice --version" returns:
"This is OpenOffice.org built with ooo-build-2.0.1"

Platform is AMD64 (32bit mode, i686)
"uname -a" returns
"Linux gryffindor 2.6.10-kanotix-8 #1 Wed Feb 2 16:49:31 GMT 2005 i686 GNU/Linux
"

Does this help?

Hi,

I'vew checked it with an official OOo2.0.1 build and could not reproduce. As
you've stated your version is from Debian, so please file this on their website
please.

Using an official build from download.openoffice.org will not have these problems.
