Description uwe.luebbers 2006-03-22 17:10:27 UTC
Hi Mikhail,

Make an installation with the ActiveX-plugin, plugin works. deinstall the plugin, it works in
fwk33 fine. Reinstall the ActiveX-plugin and Office behaves like it has no ActiveX-plugin.
Strange is the fact that .odb files still opens in the browser frame.
Comment 1 mikhail.voytenko 2006-03-28 09:14:35 UTC
MAV->IS: The problem is that during execution of the ActiveX control related
custom action it is not possible to retrieve the future state of the writer,
calc and etc. For example the call "MsiGetFeatureState( hMSI, L"gm_p_Wrt_Bin",
&current_state, &future_state )" sets the "current_state" variable to the
correct value "INSTALLSTATE_LOCAL", but the variable "future_state" is set to
"INSTALLSTATE_UNKNOWN" that is wrong. Thus the custom action installs the
control but does not register it for any of applications.
Please take a look.
Comment 2 mikhail.voytenko 2006-04-05 15:19:05 UTC
As we have discussed it with IS, it looks like if a feature state is not changed
during installation modification the "current_state" is set to the correct value
and the "future_state" is set to "INSTALLSTATE_UNKNOWN".
The custom action code is now adopted for such a behaviour, the changes are
commited to "native43" cws.

IS -> MAV: My changes for calling your CustomAction are included in cws native43
now. Please check, whether your Custom Actions executes the correct things.
Comment 4 mikhail.voytenko 2006-04-05 17:56:11 UTC
All the scenarios seems to be handled correctly by the new installsets of native43.
