With API you can read ooSetupVersion from /share/registry/data/org/openoffice/Setup.

In versions 1.1.x you can read the exact minor version, e.g. 1.1.4
In versions 2.0.x you only read 2.0

This is a problem in two cases:
- when you create a macro or component using a feature not available until a given 
minor version, or which is sensitive to a bug in 2.0.1 for example
- when you have many PC with OpenOffice it is not possible to know by program what 
version is running on each PC.

As the problem appeared from 2.0, and there are many minor versions, I think it is a 
defect which should be corrected in the next version.

I think this behaviour was intended, reassign to originator of spec.
