I downloaded the product from your Spanish link at
http://es.openoffice.org/ 
(I live in the US)

However, the interface is in English
Please help

On 'http://es.openoffice.org/programa/' you'll find "Paquetes de idiomas
Los paquetes de idiomas, son necesarios para tener OpenOffice.org 2.0
funcionando en español. Seleccione el sistema operativo en el que va a instalar
OpenOffice.org". There you can get a spanish version.
@ st: It's a strange behaviour on the OOo download page. Selecting the spanish
language jumps to the spanish pages. There you can select your platfor and
mirror and you'll get an english download. Selecting the "Paquetes de idiomas"
(language packs?) gives you a spanish office.

So I understand that the download page of the Spanish native language project
(es.openoffice.org/...) could use some improvement to avoid this kind of
misunderstandings.

The download page and the whole ES site was rewritten and offers the right version. If you still have problems downloading a recent AOO version, please open a new issue.
