Apache OpenOffice (AOO) Bugzilla – Issue 65604
text+number inconsistent with Excel
Last modified: 2006-05-22 08:42:25 UTC
OO differs from Excel in adding a text cell and numeric cell. Consider the following sheet: A1 12.3 A2 =TEXT(A1;"###.###") A3 =A2+1 In A3, Excel has 13.3 but OO has 1, because it's treating all non-numeric cells as zero instead of converting them
Not a bug ! Text is text and not a number so you can't calculate with text. Also it's a double to another Issue. Frank
fst, sorry for duplication, but I didn't find the original issue. I didn't say it was a bug, only that it's inconsistent with Excel. Perhaps you'll need to add a "faithful Excel emulation" option setting then...
