Description ahemsath 2006-05-23 18:05:19 UTC
I am running OO 2.0.1 on SuSE Linux 9.3.

Preconditions: You have a filesystem with less disk space available than the
size of the file you are attempting to save.

Steps to reproduce:
1) Save As, in .odt format, as a new file in the filesystem in question.

Bug:
The Writer application either crashes (in the case of the filesystem being
reiserfs) or hangs (in the case of the filesystem being ext3).

Expected behavior: a friendly error dialog explaining that I do not have enough
disk space in that location to save the file, and a choice of cancelling the
save or attempting to save in another location.

I initially ran into this problem when saving a large (@150K) document on a
network filesystem with almost no available space. I then verified the problem
on a couple of loopback filesystems (ext3 and reiserfs). That would be the
easiest way to set up filesystems with next to no free space.

Framework issue.
Comment 2 Olaf Felka 2006-05-24 11:28:21 UTC
Not reproducible in OOo 2.0.3. No crash at all.
Comment 3 Olaf Felka 2006-05-24 11:28:42 UTC
Is ok in OOo 2.0.3
Comment 4 ahemsath 2006-05-24 16:28:34 UTC
Yes, I have verified that both cases have been improved by 2.0.2 on Linux.

However, the error message "General Input/Output Error" leaves something to be
desired, so I'm going to open a separate issue about that.
