Apache OpenOffice (AOO) Bugzilla – Issue 66009
new Chart: Legend of loaded files may be clipped
Last modified: 2013-02-24 21:21:57 UTC
see attached doc. After reload the legend are cutted. Type: Stockchart Type4
set keyword
Created attachment 36856 [details] Doc show cutted legend
Changed target to 2.x
The new legend is rendered differently than the old legend. Therefore it can happen that it is wider than in the old chart. If the legend position is "automatic", there is no problem. Unfortunately, the old chart always wrote an absolute position of the legend into the file (which is also a bug, but is now apparent in all saved files). To fix this I see two possibilities: 1. Render the legend exactly like before. This doesn't seem appropriate for stock charts, as the legend was basically useless in the old chart, and now at least shows the candle stick bars. 2. Shift the legend to the left in the view, i.e. leave the absolute position in the model but shift the legend to the center to avoid the clipping. (Like MS Excel does with dragged pie segments. The offset stays in the model, but the view shifts the segment back if it would otherwise lap out of the chart). Setting Prio to 4.

Created attachment 44236 [details] Fix for this bug in chart2 (after integration of CWS chart2mst3)
Fixed with the attached patch (apply to CWS chart2mst3 or after this CWS has been integrated). The fix shifts the legend to the left or top when it laps out.
changed prio and target
Patch applied in chart2mst3
Please verify in latest build of chart2mst3, mst12_3. You will notice that the legend in the attached bugdoc looks different as we removed some entries for stock-charts. However, you can still see that the legend is shifted a bit to the left, as it overlaps the diagram slightly.
verified; follow up issue i77030
