If I try to record "File new" or "File|New from Template", the macro recorder
does not record anything.

Expected: It records that one wants to create a new document.

Issues: Actions done afterwards - should they be recorded in the new or the old
document. Most likely the user wants to record further actions in the new document.

This is with Novell/SUSE's OpenOffice_org-2.0.2-27

Yes, this is a known limitation.
