Apache OpenOffice (AOO) Bugzilla – Issue 66375
Mailing list archive can't be disabled
Last modified: 2012-03-01 21:59:19 UTC
The archive is no longer "subscribed" to the list. How does one disable archiving nowadays?
Hi Stefan, Are you asking to disable the archiving of a specific mailing list? Wasn't sure about the 1st line re: the "subscribed" to the list. An example of current behavior (2.6.2) will help. Thanks
In SC26 it was possible to disable the archive by unsubscribing the address of the form "archive=mail-project-list=openoffice.org@openoffice.org". This is no longer the case in CEE351. How would one disable the archive for allbugs@ooo, allcvs@ooo and some more selected lists?
st, This seems to be a new feature that all mailing lists are automatically subscribed to the archives. We are trying to find if it is possible to disable it. Regards, Karishma Support Operations
I know of allbugs@www, allcvs@www for which archiving has been disabled. Somehow this has been re-enabled on May 22 2006. So I suggest we go with the archiving for the CEE 3.5.1 upgrade and you don't charge me for the storage used :-) I still would appreciate if this functionality would be available again. Changing priority to P3...
These 2 mailing lists (allbugs@www, allcvs@www) will be marked for _NO ARCHIVING_ during the upgrade.
Done during upgrade. Please verify and close.
thanks
That was a bit fast. I can confirm that archives for the 2 mentioned lists have been disabled. But this doesn't resolve the general issue. Would you like me to file a new issue for the general regression that the functionality has been dropped?
reassigning to support
Stefan, A core product issue has been filed internally for adding back the functionality of disabling the archives from the mailing lists. I suggest we keep this issue open for tracking the regression issue. Regards, Karishma, Support Operations
Stefan , After careful consideration from the engineers and also based on the comments provided by the engineers in the internal issue . We have decided that this would be a feature which can been considered to be provided in the up-coming Discussion Service. The fine line between whether this issue is an regression/feature is something which we could discuss . -Jobin.
I am resolving this issue to Resolved-Later . Since this issue is considered in an Future Release of CEE .
Updating the whiteboard .
Hi The issue is being considered for future release of CEE. Support will continue to monitor the issue & review the fix in the corresponding release. Regards, Vathsan Support Operations.
CollabNet Support is currently reviewing the issues under Resolved-Later. If the issues are fixed currently in any of the present CEE releases, then it will be marked as Resolved-Fixed. There might be a few issues which might not be in our future roadmaps which might be closed as Wontfix unless it does not lie under any custom request
Keeping it open for validation.
Updating the SWB
Stefan, please check the status of this issue; do we still need it? As this is not a release relevant issue, I suggest to align its priority to all other "regression" issues to avoid confusing queries (means: P4).
The requirement has not been implemented until now. Let's reopen the issue if the necessity for this improvement comes up again.
