Description stx123 2006-06-12 22:05:55 UTC
Pending actions / Pending roles in project xxx (1) is listed on "My pages" for
project owners only. This has changed from SC26 where domain admins where able
ot to help project owners with this work.

This is the information which is present in

http://www.openoffice.org/scdocs/StartPage

"The Pending actions section will appear on your My start page when there are
items that require your attention, such as requests for membership in projects
in which you have a Project owner role."

Investigating further on this issue.

An internal issue has been filed to the engineers awaiting their response in
this issue .

Have a explanation on the reason on why this particular option is not available
any more . Looks like the query that is been run which determines what to show
for unapproved actions on the start page for a user only checks to see if the
logged in user has the same direct role in the project. It does not check
indirect roles due to performance reasons. Domain Admins can approve roles in
projects, but they will not automatically see all outstanding, unapproved roles
on the site.

So there is two options:

1. If the DA's know which roles they want to approve, they can navigate to the
project, then click on 'Membership' in the left nav, and see the pending approvals.

2. If the necessity is that you should/must have have all unapproved roles show
up on in a page, we may be able to provide a query that is accessible from a
newly introduced page (in the instance set) that will show this
information. However keep in mind that a query of this size on a site like Ooo
could show literally thousands of roles from all the projects. For this reason,
it is not an option to have this query run during login.

DAs don't know which project has open role requests. That's the point. But they
know that the owner is on vacation or can remind an owner if he misses to work
on the requests.
There is no need to have all role requests on one page and especially not on the
start page. I would be happy with an administrative page listing open projects
with open role approvals, projects with open document approvals, ...

Pending actions
    * Pending roles in project test (1)
    * Pending roles in project cvsroot (1)
    * Proposed files in project test (2)

Just like it was in SC26 :-)
Or even better if sorted by project...

Stefan ,

Your valuable feedback has been provided to the engineers .

Awaiting response from the engineers.
Comment 9 stx123 2007-01-12 16:10:20 UTC
Let's consider this an enhancement for a future version.
Comment 10 Unknown 2007-01-12 18:31:15 UTC
The reason the feature was removed is because of the resources required to
generate the pending action output for Domain Admins. We realize this feature
is beneficial, which is why it was introduced, but the problems with its
implementation became readily apparent as the site's dataset (projects, users,
roles, etc) increased. We will continue to work on returning this functionality.
Comment 11 Unknown 2007-08-22 07:29:51 UTC
This feature has been stated to be brought back in one of the upcoming release.
Moving this issue into the Resolved Later queue .
Comment 12 Unknown 2007-08-22 07:30:23 UTC
Updating the target milestone
Comment 13 Unknown 2009-01-23 10:32:52 UTC
CollabNet Support is currently reviewing the issues under Resolved-Later. If the
issues are fixed currently in any of the present CEE releases, then it will be
marked as Resolved-Fixed.

There might be a few issues which might not be in our future roadmap which might
be closed as Wontfix unless it does not lie under any custom request.
Comment 14 Unknown 2009-01-23 10:35:44 UTC
Keeping it opened as for more validation
Comment 15 Unknown 2009-01-28 11:59:34 UTC
It might be considered to be implemented in CEE 5.3
Comment 16 stx123 2011-03-23 16:13:12 UTC
Reset QA Contact to new default
Comment 17 Dave Fisher 2012-02-19 21:15:06 UTC
This issue has no meaning on Apache OpenOffice. There are no "My Pages" and there will be no openoffice.org user registrations.
