Any inline element style hasn't border properties. Would you add this feature?

Inline element - An element which does not have a line break before and after

example in html: <p>, <div> is block element and <i>,<b>,<span> is inline element

I still do not fully understand... do you speak of elements in a document view
or do you mean the xml code of a file?

in ooo inline element is character a block is paragraph.
character has background but hasn't borders like paragraph.

Now I understand. Desired is a possibilty to put a border around single
characters or a selected text.
