chart source should be able to span different sheets.

or  if source was on sheet 1 originally, chart should be able to be copied and 
moved to sheet 2.
Currently the action is possible but the inserted chart is only a demo chart, 
not the original.

for example I liked to have all charts on one sheet and data on a different 
sheet, even if they were together originally

I like to have:

- the source data for a chart should be able to come from different 
sheets within a spreadsheet

Summary:
It would be nice to be able to display data from varios source/sheets
within a spreadsheet in _one_ chart.
This means enhancement of the current UI.

Hi Lars,
What you describe works perfect for me in OOo 2.0. I create a chart with data
from sheet 1. Than I move the chart to a different sheet maybe sheet 2 and the
data still comes from sheet 1. See also Issue 29848, here users do request what
you seem to complain about.
Maybe there is a missunderstanding. Could you please clarify? Otherwise I would
set this issue to 'worksforme' and close it.
