Description lohmaier 2006-08-11 19:44:22 UTC
Similar (but not identical to!) issue 67488

To ease the usage of IZ and to avoid mistakes by the user, IZ should autodetect
a mimetype and use that in the form instead of defaultig to some arbitrary
chosen default.

If the mimetype cannot be determined (because of missing/unknown extension),
then IZ should ask the user to set the mimetype manually (that is where issue
67488 kicks in)

This should at least be done for image formats (everything a browser can
display) (png, jpeg, jpg, gif, bmp, tif, tiff, txt, htm, html)

Hi,

Considering the fact that Collab is running in the maintenance mode for some
time with IZ & not working on enhancement requests on it currently, i am afraid
that the Product Management team would not be ready to take up this request
(autodetecting mimetypes).

However, if you feel you would like this request to be considered/implemented by
our Services team they would be willing to create a Statement of Work (SOW) for
a fee. In that case, please contact your Sales Account Manager (SAM) to get more
details.

Given this and other dead ends in IZ we have to look at other options.
Would Project tracker fulfill the requirement wrt to autodetection of mimetype
for attachments?
Comment 4 Unknown 2006-08-17 06:43:48 UTC
St ,

Project Tracker already has the feature in place for auto -detection of
attachments. Am attaching some screen shot's of how the auto detect would look
like in the Project Tracker.
