As mentioned in the attached email below OpenOffice is nominated
together with StarOffice. In order to win this award we should
have a link to the award on the home page including the logo of
the award. 

Many people will probably vote for OpenOffice if they know about
this award. Winning this award is important in order to increase
the popularity of the XML file format. This can help to make the
XML file format a de facto standard for XML based document files.

Hi: phase one: a link to syscon for the vote; the logo for the award
may be more difficult and would rather send people to it than put it
on the homepage, as it would compete w/ other logos, like our own.

so, made the link and announcement.
