Description olinart 2006-09-10 02:01:05 UTC
Testing milestone8.
The statistics feature in charts is very nice, especially the regression
feature. But I believe additional options would be useful especially for
scientific work:

1) Allow the errorbars to be user specified. If this option is selected a range
is input. Default would assume columns label, values-y, errors-y. The y-error
attribute in the chart would selectable from Data Ranges as errors-y.
2)Lower priority - option of specifying error-yhi, error-ylow, error-x in a
similar way.
3) As well as the %error etc options, one should have an option for error =
sqrt(y) - Poisson statistics.
Thanks.

Hi olinart, cell ranges for error bars is already requested with issue 366. For
different feature request please write separat issues instead of listing
differetn requests in one issue. Thanks a lot! Ingrid.

Point 3 is an enhancement simpler that Issue 366. Possibly 366 needs some
restructuring of the code, which might be why it's been unresolved for so long.
sqrt(y) errors could be implemented analogously to % errors.

Hi olinart,
please write a new issue only containing point 3. This multi-request issues
always create confusion and trouble. Could you also please explain in more
detail what is expected to be calculated. And in which areas are those errorbars
needed? Thanks a lot.
Ingrid

Hi olinart. Thanks for creating the separat issue 69664 :-). So I now can close
this as duplicate I think.
