Description bheinsius 2006-09-23 15:38:57 UTC

I'm running version 2.0.2-2ubuntu12.1 (on Ubuntu of course).

I'm opening a writer document from an ssh server listening on port 8022. OOo
then prompts me for a password (why? I already logged in to the ssh server) and
then opens it read-only (again, why?).

I press the print button and the print dialog opens.
I select my printer and press OK.
Then I am returned to the document but no printing dialog appears, as it usually
does. Also, the job does not appear in the printer queue, nor does it come out
of the printer.

regards, Bart.

Reassigned to HI.
Comment 2 h.ilter 2006-09-25 10:40:40 UTC
->eombah: Do you start also the OOo from the ssh server or just open only the
document? If second, do you call it at the command line or with the OOo open dialog?
Please give an detailed step by step description.

I only open the document from the ssh server.
I do this by selecting it from Nautilus on Ubuntu.
You are right, I should have been more specific.

Running OOo on Ubuntu 6.06LTS:
1. From the Ubuntu Places menu, select Connect to Server and create an SSH
connection to your SSH server
2. Open the new 'place' from the Ubuntu Desktop, enter your ssh server password
when prompted, and navigate to an .odt document
3. Open the document by double clicking it
4. OOo prompts for password (why? I have already logged in)
5. OOo opens the document in read-only mode (why? the ssh logged on user has rw
rights on the document)
6. Press the Print button from the standard toolbar and click OK to print it

Result: the print dialog is closed (as should be) but nothing gets printed.

regards, Bart.

HI->ABI: Please take over, thanks.
Comment 5 andreas.bille 2006-10-10 15:20:57 UTC
ABI: There is no handing over of passwords from Nautilus to StarOffice, so there
is no way but retyping the password. Opening it read-only seems to be not correct.

Comment 7 bheinsius 2006-10-15 16:40:16 UTC
just to be sure here, the problem is not that I have to enter my password twice

The problem is that documents opened through ssh can't be printed.

regards Bart.

ABI->KSO: As discussed ...
Comment 9 kai.sommerfeld 2007-04-04 16:34:37 UTC
KSO->eombah: Seems we're facing different problems here. First is that the
document gets loaded readonly. Can you please file a separate issue for this.

KSO->PL: Let's use this issue to track down and fix the print problem.

Opened ssh document
opened read-only (OOo 2.04)

Also opened [Issue
76105] Cannot open ssh document on OOo 2.2.

If "normal" documents can be printed but not one from a ssh server, then this is
a framework issue. VCL does not know anything about documents, file systems and
so on.

pl->cd: could you please have a look ?
Comment 12 carsten.driesner 2007-04-20 08:44:22 UTC
cd->as: Please have a look why we open the document in read-only mode.
