Description jasonspiro 2006-10-12 23:14:00 UTC
It would be better if IssueZilla showed the "Enter an issue" link to logged-out
users. Then, when they clicked it, it would prompt them to log in or register.

I am reporting this because the lack of an "Enter an issue" link stumped me for
a while.

hm. this may be possible, though it may also cause some other confusion.....
Let's see if we can update the QA page so that logged-out users know they must
log in t file an issue.

André, perhaps a paragraph on QA homepage with, Bug? Issue? Here is how to file
an issue..."

confirmed and reassigned.

Louis: the question is clearly about *Issue Tracker* showing the link and I have
no control at all, what issue tracker shows or not (I was happy to know about this).
You may put a linkt to
http://qa.openoffice.org/issue_handling/pre_submission.html
anywhere in Issue Tracker.

but there would still be the problem that you need to be logged in.

Andre, I understand, and my point was that perhaps QA could have a paragraph
with some information, thus filing in the gap created by IT's lack.

I still think that QA could have a paragraph with the point i mentioned. Right
now--and this departs a little from the original issue filer's issue
point--there is little information on what users can expect on filing an issue.

Eg, You must be logged in to file an issue. When you log out (or are logged out
when your session expires), you will not be able to file an issue and you will
not see the "Entter an issue" link. You can only see that link when you are
logged in.
