Apache OpenOffice (AOO) Bugzilla – Issue 71318
Spellcheck removes manual line breaks (shift enters) in Impress
Last modified: 2007-02-14 16:17:08 UTC
To recreate this problem: - Open Impress - Find or make a text box with a bulleted list - on any line (first, middle last), write a word that is misspelled, then shift-enter to create a manual line break. - (optional): add another bullet/line after the misspelled one. - run spell check and use spell check to change or correct the spelling (either through the supplied word list or in the word editor) Expected behaviour: the word changes Unexpected behaviour: the manual line breaks (for that line only) disappear I know manual formatting isn't supposed to be done this way, but for my purposes it's easiest, and I expect many non-expert users would be bothered by this formatting change, too. I tested this on two different computers (albeit both Windows XP Home 32). - RG>
Reassigned.
Set to new and change the target.
I can reproduce the bug. Not only the soft line break vanish but also the text in the 'new' Line. Please have a look.
.
TL: Must use the spellcheck dialog and click the change button for the word before the manual line break. Works just fine with the context-menu.
Also the bullets are not necessary to see the problem. Thus it can be seen in Writers text boxes as well.
Partly fixed/workarounded in CWS tl25. Text should not disappear any longer. On the other hand it may not always be spell checked anymore or the language in use may be wrong. See also follow-up issue 73553. Files changed: - svx/source/dialog/SpellDialog.cxx
CGU: Verified in cws tl25
