When I try to open files trough network on my Linux (Fedora Core 6) caused 
crash. OpenOffice.org is starting with splash screen, but after it gets 
loaded, splash screen disappear and nothing happen. OpenOffice.org seems to be 
crashed without any information. The files are on Windows XP based sharing 
that is protected by password. I try to open files from Konqueror. I cannot 
open files from the OpenOffice.org's opening dialog, but it might be an 
another issue. Starce attached.

please specify if you access Windows file share via smb:// or by mounting it. 
Providing screenshot of Konqueror window with the file would help.
Also make sure you try official binaries of OpenOffice 2.2.
