Description andrew 2006-11-28 19:01:55 UTC
I have a document that causes OOo to lock in version 2.04 and 2.1 on both Linux
and Windows. (I will create an attachment)

On Windows and Linux, I cause OOo to lock using Tools | Update | Update All.
On Windows and Linux, I cause OOo to lock by exporting to a PDF.

After loading the file into Windows, I realized that even attempting to view
page 23, which has the sections "Create the DEALER table" and "Create the ITEM
table", causes OOo to hang.

If you expand the document and look at the XML, you can fix the problem by
removing the following XML.

   <text:p text:style-name="OOoFigure"><draw:frame draw:style-name="fr5"
draw:name="Frame11" text:anchor-type="as-char" svg:width="5in" draw:z-index="26">
     <draw:text-box fo:min-height="1.7201in">
      <text:p text:style-name="OOoFigureCaption"><draw:frame
draw:style-name="fr6" draw:name="graphics11" text:anchor-type="paragraph"
svg:x="0in" svg:width="5in" style:rel-width="100%" svg:height="1.7098in"
style:rel-height="scale" draw:z-index="27"><draw:image
xlink:href="Pictures/1000020000000257000000E2AE506504.gif" xlink:type="simple"
xlink:show="embed" xlink:actuate="onLoad"/>
       </draw:frame>Figure <text:sequence text:ref-name="refFigure0"
text:name="Figure" text:formula="ooow:Figure+1"
style:num-format="1">1</text:sequence>: Copy DEALER table to the ITEM
table.</text:p>
     </draw:text-box>
    </draw:frame></text:p>

I see the same freeze with high CPU usage on OOo 2.0.4 Linux x86. I am marking
it P2 since it "Crashes or freezes during normal operations of the application."

MRU->OD: a loop opening a file containing som captioned objects. referring to
the xml-snippet above, the problem maybe related to a special "as-char" anchored
frame.
Comment 5 Oliver-Rainer Wittmann 2006-12-13 10:31:30 UTC
accepted.

defect cause:
layout loop for as-character anchored caption frame containing single-line
paragraph and at-paragraph anchored graphic, which is vertical positioned center
to the single-line paragraph.
Comment 6 Oliver-Rainer Wittmann 2008-01-11 14:00:55 UTC
retarget to OOo 3.0 due to limited resources
Comment 7 Oliver-Rainer Wittmann 2008-04-28 10:45:47 UTC
Due to limited resources re-target to OOo 3.x
Comment 8 Marcus 2017-05-20 11:13:20 UTC
Reset assigne to the default "issues@openoffice.apache.org".
