Apache OpenOffice (AOO) Bugzilla – Issue 72588
edit data disabled in query view
Last modified: 2013-08-07 15:45:17 UTC
I am sure this is in there somewhere because i have seen it discussed in forums, but in base I have queries where I can edit the results in the query view windows, but with the same database some queries it is grayed out and I cannot edit data in the results. Obviously a major hit to functionality. Anyway, when I convert the queries to views I have the same problem. I would be exceptionally happy if this was just something that I was missing about table unlocking or something. Cheers, --=chris
FYI, it not only happens with the native database engine, but I have similar problems when I use JDBC to connect to a mySQL (5.x) db. Having to switch back to Access/ODBC for now. Let me know if there is anything you want me to try to do. --chris
Right now I am thinking that it had to do more with how keys were set up in the DB, because I have been able to get it to operate consistantly now that I have done some restructuring of the data. I actually figured this out by reading the help text in MS Access where it talked about editing field difficulties in ODBC connections.
may you attach a small sample db file to this issue and a description for better repro of your problem thy
