Confirming with OO2.1 on Win XP - "Applying" unchecked "Do not show on first
slide" is not retained on next dialog open.

liutao, can you explain what your patch should do? I don't understand it.

cgu, liutao, there is no issue at all. "Do not show on first slide" is a
convenience feature of this dialog, not a feature of the document that is stored
at the document. The header and footer settings can be set differently for each
slide. As a convenience feature, the dialog offers the "Apply to all" to change
all slides to the same Header and Footer settings.

One often used feature is to display header and footer on all but the first
slide. This can be done by setting to display header and footer for all slides,
then go to first slide and disable it for first slide only. To allow the user to
do this quickly without having to open the dialog twice, he can select "Do not
show on first slide". The meaning of this button is not to change a document
setting, as there is no such setting, it just changes the way the first slide is
configured when the "Apply" or "Apply to all" button is pressed.

This is basically the same design pattern as the rotation center in the shape
rotation tab page.

cl->cgu: for me this feature works as designed
Comment 8 christian.guenther 2007-02-13 14:09:23 UTC
When dialog is started from first slide, the checkbox for "not on first slide"
should never be checked so if the user wants to change the settings for the
first slide works by default.
