Apache OpenOffice (AOO) Bugzilla – Issue 72866
Entry form with subform displays incorr # of records
Last modified: 2013-02-07 22:41:14 UTC
Connecting to an MS Access database. Open a form with subform for data entry. The recordsof the subform are related to records in the main form by a common field. The form never shows the correct number of records in the main table, and often can't find any records beyond the first. It shows Record 1 of 1 in the record navigation area at the bottom of the main form. When it shows record 1 of n, n is always less than the actual number of records in the main table. Clicking on the button to go to the last record works correctly, and the display is updated to show the correct number of records.
may you attach a sample database file, showing that problem thx

Still an issue with release 2.2
Confirming with m209 on WinXP - at first form shows 11 records, but when you step to the 11th number of records jumps to 18.
i can repro that
This may be a good candidate for a feature enhancement, but in an of itself is not a bug - it is as designed. When you first open a form with a data grid, or a data view, the record navigator displays an asterisk next to the total record count. This is to inform you that this is not the final count of records, as the total table has not been read yet. When this number is valid the asterisk is removed.
clu->atjensen: you are right - very confusing :( -> send further to the requirements team
