Apache OpenOffice (AOO) Bugzilla – Issue 72899
unable to access CVS repository
Last modified: 2013-08-07 15:24:38 UTC
I am not able to login to CVS repository. I am trying to log in to CVs for this first time. I am able to establish a tunnel successfully. Here is what I did: 1. establish a tunnel: - $ ssh -2 -x -L 2401:localhost:20401 tunnel@openoffice.org ==>>sucessful 2. Opened a new window and excuted following cmd to initiate CVS connection: $ cvs -d:pserver:tesfamicaela@localhost:/cvs login ==>> Entered openoffice password but login fails-- get following error: -channel 2: open failed: administratively prohibited: open failed
Could you try it again? I'm able to login to the repository. It would be interesting to see if it's something with your account.
Thanks Asrail, I tried again and still am getting same error, "channel 2: open failed: administratively prohibited: open failed". I am also assuming it's account issue. Can you please help me assign issue to appropriate person, assuming that it is an issue with my account. Thank you
Louis => please have a look at this or assign to the correct person, thanks.
Louis, Can you help with this - I am having problem login to repository
Hi What project do you need access to? It seems a simple permissions issue. I can fix it, as can the relevant project lead, by granting you the right permissions, but need to know the project.
Hello Louis, Thanks for pointing out the problem. Actually, I am trying to access the Tigryna project, ti. I am the project owner. Granted my self project owner & manager roles but still I don't seem to access it. Can you please check if I am missing anything ?
Hi, tesfamicaela, I checked and yes, you are the PO. I do not understand the error messages as you ought to be able to log into the cvs repository using your OOo userid and password. Assigning to Support for help. Support, would you be able to help out the user? thanks louis
Hi Louis, I tried to replicate this issue, but found something intresting. >>> 1. establish a tunnel: - $ ssh -2 -x -L 2401:localhost:20401 tunnel@openoffice.org ==>>sucessfu >>> the user has mentioned the localhost 20401, whereas the actual local host use is 2401. I believe its because of that. Can you ask the user to do as follows Establish the tunnel $ ssh -2 -x -L 2401:localhost:2401 tunnel@cvs.openoffice.org Open a new window and execute the following $ cvs -d:pserver:rsindhu@localhost:/cvs login If you still have problems in doing so, please feel free to contact us. Thanks Sindhu Support Operations
Hi Louis, Oopss a small correction to my previous comment, <<< Open a new window and execute the following $ cvs -d:pserver:rsindhu@localhost:/cvs login >>> Please replace rsindhu with the username. Thanks Sindhu Support Operations.
Is there any updates on this issue or could we go ahead and close this issue .
sending to tesfamicaela
