Description rebm 2007-01-13 17:27:18 UTC
The issue is as I attempted to mail to this programmer in an email that never
got to its destination.
==================================================================================
Dear Mr. Mchristi:

I am an Oo Base user in Canada who has had a problem with printing labels that
is similar to Issue 58815.

The database was originally created out of a table from an MS Access database,
but has been operating in Oo Base for some time.

When data changes are made, I change the filename so as to avoid other users of
the same database from working with old data.

However when I do this, the print application prints without changing records at
each label. Moreover, renaming the database back to its old name does not solve
the problem. I am forced to go back into the database and recreate the print
application.

Please note that this is a case where I am actually printing linked to a query,
not the main table.

I have attached a copy of the print application.

Can you shed any more light on this hidden character which is supposed to cause
the change of records? I had even tried to use the clipboard to reinsert that
character from another working print application.

BTW this problem did not seem to happen with the other applications that print
from the main table.

Also, I notice now that I have to load the query in the print application print
menu each time I want to print. I didn't have to do that before.

Best Regards,
Bruce Martin

A secondary thought, perhaps connected with this problem?

In Writer this is a 'normal' but sometimes annoying feature.

All database fields are recorded using their "registered-databasename.fieldname"
Changing the database makes the fields unusable.
A workaround was to change the connected filename like old.dbf into new.dbf in
the registered database name in OpenOffice (like addresses). The existing fields
could remain on their place and where giving the info from the new.dbf trough
the registered addresses database.
