Description bastb 2007-01-14 20:42:10 UTC
A document created with OpenOffice.org 2.1 (dutch version) has a lot of tables
in it, and 1 of the tables contains a formula. The formula is a sum formula
(=sum(<A3:G3>)). The table itself is repeated 6 more times and the layout and
formula is the same for each of the tables.

When this entire document gets exported to a PDF-document and the resulting PDF
document is viewed using the Foxit PDF reader, the value of the cell containing
this formula doesn't contain the expected value, but this error: "** Foutieve
expressie **" (which can be translated to something like "invalid expression").
There is no error when the document is read using OpenOffice.org 2.1.

My fault. It is PDF export, not WinWord export... reopened issue.

Reassigned to HI.
Comment 8 h.ilter 2007-01-15 13:13:47 UTC
The error is already present by opened document at the last table below.
Set to WFM
Comment 9 h.ilter 2007-01-16 10:16:34 UTC
I've corrected the error at the bugdoc and did a pdf export. It looks like
expected, No error!
Comment 10 bastb 2007-01-16 10:35:31 UTC
I'm probably not clear enough on this, but what is the error in the document?
The formula seems ok. Is it? If it is, then it should be possible to
automaticly `execute' the formula prior to the PDF export.
Comment 11 Rainer Bielefeld 2007-01-16 11:42:24 UTC
Hm, I can't see any relation to PDF export. When I open your document
'openoffice-export-pdf.odt', I read "** Foutieve expressie ** in the last cell
of the last table, and that is just the same as in PDF.

When I did a change in 'openoffice-export-pdf.odt', the error message has been
changed to German (as expected). So the question seems to be what input caused
the error message in the OOo document.

@bastb: any idea how to get the error message in an own new document?

I can see the error in the original document -- I forgot to add a closing
brace ")" to the formula in the cell. This was not the problem in the original
document, however I don't want to attach this document to the bug report as I
don't want this document to be available to the world.

What triggers the execution of a formula is not clear to me: I created a table
to reproduce this bug and noticed that when I set a value to a cell which was
empty and is part of the formula in another cell, the new value gets calculated
right away. When I change a value and click below the table, the result of the
formula is not changed. The new value is calculated right away when I change
the value and use the tab key to jump to another cell.

@bastb, please feel free to reopen this issue if you can
- contribute a test kit with an error free OOo source document and a PDF export
  showing the complained problem.
