Description wolle2000 2007-01-22 22:00:17 UTC
When you "load style" from another document or template and you check only
"frame" (for example) but none of the other checkboxes, not even "overwrite",
then nevertheless the text-styles are overwritten!
This can ruin your whole document when you only wanted to get a pre-made frame
or listing style.

wolle2000,
any chance you could supply sample documents?

Hi kpalagin,
no problem ;)
Download the following document:
http://oooauthors.org/de/Vorlagen/Kapitelvorlage.odt

Now do the following. Open a new document, write some dummy text with the style
"textbody" (which must NOT be Bitstream btw., otherwise you won't see a change).
Now load a style. Check only "frames", nothing else. Take the above mentioned
file as source. (I have this as a template, too: same effect)
Now your "textbody" should change to "Bitstream".
At least on my computer it does: WinXP, OOo 2.1

I also cannot reproduce the problem. please attach the offending document to
this issue, so that we can reproduce and fix the problem here. You can also send
the document directly (mru@openoffice.org) for the case it contains confidential
data. Feel free to re-open the issue when you've done.
Thanks for supporting us!

Confirming with b9107 on WinXP. Repro steps:
1. Open "Kapitelvorlage.odt", click Format, Styles, click "Character styles",
then back to "Paragraph styles", r-click "Text body", Modify, Font. Note
that "Bitsream Vera Serif" is displayed. Clcik Cancel.
2. In "Styles and Formatting" dialog click upper right button "New Style from
Selection", "Load Styles" and make sure only "Frame" is checked. Click "From
File" and locate "dummy.odt" (attached) and click Open.
3. In "Styles and Formatting" dialog r-click "Text body", Modify, Font. Note
that "Times New Roman" is displayed.

MRU->OD: open the "Kapitelvorlage.odt", load styles from a dummy document while
all style types (except Frame styles) are unselected in Load styles dialog ->
the default paragraph style becomes overwritten.
