Apache OpenOffice (AOO) Bugzilla – Issue 7396
Accelerate scroll speed when scrolling long "distances"
Last modified: 2013-08-07 15:12:27 UTC
when one wants to select data, let's say B1:B7857, this will be helpfull. high speed not in the beginning, but gradually. to a maximum, not 1000 rows/sec., but say 50 rows/sec. then, the user can double this speed by pressing the right mouse button (and again and again if he needs it)
Hi Falko, 1 4 u Frank
Accelerate scroll speed when scrolling long "distances" Example: If a user expands content to a column by using the mouse the scroll speed should gradually speed up the further the user scrolls down/up/left/right.

hmm, if the screen border is near, the distance for acceleration is quite low and the final speed is not high enough. Moving "beyond" the screen border had no effect as of OOo 3.0 Beta m2. The final speed I achieved is a good high speed. Yet for even further distances, a fine-tune info may pop up telling something like "click right once/twice to double/half or so speed". Thus leaving open.
To grep the issues easier via "requirements" I put the issues currently lying on my owner to the owner "requirements".
This is very strange. I am having the opposite problem with run-away scrolling while using a touchpad on a laptop. There is no problem with speed, just getting it to stop!
