Apache OpenOffice (AOO) Bugzilla – Issue 74263
Error uploading ms-word doc to Windows Sharepoint
Last modified: 2017-05-20 10:55:56 UTC
Tried to upload a MS-Word file created by OpenOffice.org Writer onto a Microsoft Windows SharePoint Services 2.0 server. This server refused to upload it with the following error: Unable to update the information in the Microsoft Office document BACnet Committee ASHRAE SSPC 135/ProposedChanges/Active-Proposals/STK/stk-019-2.doc. After opening the downloaded file with MS Word, and saving it, the file could be uploaded to Sharepoint. I will attach both files.

Framework issue.
Not a framework issue ! Problem occurs iwhen trying to upload/save the file which was created with OOo. Everything works fine when the file is opened and saved with Word. So it looks like there is a problem within the creation/filter for the *.doc export. So there seems to be a difference between both atached files.
MRU->SKARG: Is it possible for you to store other files/documents created by OOo onto this Sharepoint server?
The PowperPoint could be uploaded as is, while both Word and Excel had to be opened and actively saved before they could be uploaded. The Error message was always the same as with STK-019: ============= Form Validation Error Please correct the information you provided by following these steps, then submit the information again: Unable to update the information in the Microsoft Office document BACnet Committee ASHRAE SSPC 135/WorkingGroups/LA-WG/LA018.doc. ==============
Reassigned to JSK.
Nice. Another challenge. This will take quite some time before i can actively investigate the issue. I set a preliminary target.
-> SBA: We have something special here. Apparently MS puts some identifier into their documents that we know nothing about. Could be a nice feature for 3.0 - if simple enough to implement...
SBA->MBA: Please have a look, thanks.
Tobias, one for you.
TKR->HB Henning please have a look. Btw: If you using WSS 3.0 instead of WSS 2.0 it works fine.
Reset assigne to the default "issues@openoffice.apache.org".
