Balloons are incorrectly resized during import.
See attachment.
When the powerpoint is imported into Impress, the layout of the balloons is
changed, making them useless. Strangely enough the layout remains the same after
the initial PowerPoint import, through multiple save/open cycles as powerpoint file.

Confirming with 2.1 and 2.2 m5 on WinXP - text does not fit in baloons. In 
PPT2003 it does.

I can't reproduce the bug.
Please have a look if the bug still occures in the latest developer build.

I have downloaded the 2.2.0 RC2. Problem is still occurring.

I have opened the ppt from this site in PowerPoint. It displays ok (see
powerpoint.bmp image attached).

Then I opened the ppt from Impress. It still displays wrong (see impress.bmp
image attached).

If I can be of other assistance, please let me know!

I can reproduce a similar behavior when I load the bugdoc in PPT and change the
'Resize AutoShape to fix text' setting in 'Format / Text Box / Text Box' and
save the document again.
Please tell me if you change something in the document before you load it with OOo.

I do not understand the question completely. This is wat I did:

* I've created a powerpoint and modified it till it looked good.
* Then I've loaded it in OOo.
* It looked no so good.

I found 2 ways to produce a similar behavior.

1) I simply load the bugdoc. I don't have the font therefore the replacement
font have another size. But this changes both the font and the balloons. The
balloons looks completely different but the text fits.

2) first I changed the font to a font on my system in PPT and save it again. 
I load the bugdoc with OOo when it is still open in PPT. It opens read only and
the balloons are too small. but the balloons change to the correct size when I
leave the read only mode.

Please tell me if the bug still occurs in the latest version (2.3) and if the
doc is in the read only mode after loading in OOo.

Problem still occurs with 2.3.0.
Document not in read-only mode.
I have uploaded some output with 2.3.0 and PowerPoint 2003.
Also, I can send you the font. Can not upload since the uploads are visible to
everyone and we have a license on the font. Please send your email adres to

I don't believe that it depends on the font. It sounds more like a missing
refresh after loading the file.
But nevertheless please send me the font maybe I'm wrong and it depends on the font.
