Description lillith 2007-02-28 20:20:05 UTC
When creating or modifying a chart with the chart2 wizard, the wizard blocks all
access to the spreadsheet underneath. To enter a new data range, I have to
manually enter the desired cell ranges into the wizard because dragging a box
around the cells is not possible. Once the wizard comes up, any kind of
interaction with the spreadsheet gets blocked. The wizard works fine if the
ranges are entered manually or copied and pasted into the box, it just doesn't
play well with the rest of the spreadsheet. This is also the case when modifying
data ranges after the chart is created.
I'm using ooo_chart2_milestone11_linux_intel on opensuse 10.2 x86_64. I also saw
this behaviour in milestone10.

Sorry, wrong component. This has nothing to do with drawing.... Reassigning.

Hi.
Its the correct behaviour. You try to create a Chart and not to work into a
spreadsheet. And to enter a new Data Range, try to use the button on the left
side of the box. So you can easy enter the cell ranges. I will close this isse
as work for me. For further information pls use the newsgroups.

Hello again,
I still have this problem with the latest ooo-dev (m216). Until recently, I
thought this was caused by my unstable beryl configuration, but after getting to
the root of the beryl problem, the chart2 issue remains. I have tested it with
beryl and xgl disabled, but chart2 wizard still cannot access the spreadsheet
(yes I do click on the button to the left). For comparison, the function wizard
allows interaction with the spreadsheet so this is limited to chart2. I'm
willing to do testing and whatnot if anyone has suggestions but I'll leave this
issue as closed for now.
