Apache OpenOffice (AOO) Bugzilla – Issue 75406
Master Document Word Count does not update when sub docs got changed
Last modified: 2013-08-07 14:42:46 UTC
Answering yes to "Update all links?" when a master document is opened does not update the word count. Steps: 1 ) Open an existing master document. Dialogue box asks "Update all links?" 2 ) Select yes. 3 ) Check word count. 4 ) Close master document. 5 ) Open one of the documents linked to the master document, and add a word. 6 ) Save and close the sub-document. 7 ) Open the master document. Dialogue box asks "Update all links?" 8 ) Select yes. 9 ) Check word count. It is still the same as when first checked. 10 ) Select Navigator->Update->All. 11 ) Check word count. It is now correct.
Reassigned to SBA.
Confirming with 2.2RC2. Issue http://www.openoffice.org/issues/show_bug.cgi?id=75492 seems to be related. My suggestion to update counters on document open still stands.
SBA: Still occurs in OOo 2.3, so the fix for issue 76360 did not change the master doc behavior. Note: This was OK in SO8_U3, broken since SO8_U4. Set keyword "regression". Another workaround is to write a word in the master doc. Then the word count gets updated, too. Reassigned to FME.
fme: In my opinion the document should be set to modified if the links are updated. This is covered by issue 38810.
