Description pirast 2007-03-16 13:07:19 UTC
Currently, it is not possible to copy diagrams to other applications than
OpenOffice.

For example, some users may want to paste their OpenOffice.org diagrams to the
Gimp in order to save them as a PNGs.

Wrong component, changed to Chart. Also I fear this is something for the
framework as it seems to me that the Office have to act as a OLE Server in this
case.

Maybe it would make sense to offer a bitmap format for the clipboard in addition to the meta-file format
we currently have. A meta-file may be used for pasting by some applications (probably mostly on
Windows), but bitmaps are supported by far more applications.

I am currently not sure if this must be implemented by the chart or the embedded object framework.

bm -> I agree about the bitmap format.
Isn't this already working in new chart?

@BM: pls cover this feature.
Comment 6 bjoern.milcke 2007-03-28 10:24:45 UTC
I think this should be handled by the XTransferable of the embedded object. It
looks like all OLE objects currently only support GDI Metafile. As we can
convert a Metafile into a Bitmap internally, we should think about offering a
Bitmap format (in addition) for the clipboard for all OLE objects, as this is
more common for other applications to accept.

->MAV: Am I right that this is an enhancement for OLE-objects in general?
